AI tools that integrate with HawkSoft: a 2026 guide for independent agencies

The short version
  • HawkSoft stays your system of record. The AI tools worth adding are the ones that read from the client file and write the result back to it, so nothing is typed twice and nothing lives in a side system.
  • For proposals, renewal comparisons, and policy checking, CopyCat is built for HawkSoft agencies: pick the client, CopyCat imports every in-force policy, builds the document on your agency template, and files the finished PDF back on the client with a log note and a task.
  • For the phones, Sonant, Liberate, and Lightspeed Voice log calls and notes into HawkSoft. For servicing, Cara handles certificates and email triage. For submissions, Broker Buddha. For new-client intake, Canopy Connect.
  • Before you connect anything, ask what the tool reads, what it writes back, and where. HawkSoft’s Partner API shares policy data but not attached documents, so be wary of any vendor that says otherwise.

HawkSoft is the management system behind thousands of independent agencies, and over the last year it has opened up to a wave of AI partners. That is good news for agencies, and it also makes the buying decision harder. Nearly every insurance AI vendor now says it "integrates with HawkSoft", and the phrase can mean anything from a file you import by hand to a live, two-way connection.

This guide sorts it out. It explains what a HawkSoft integration can and cannot do, lists the AI tools with announced HawkSoft integrations by the job each one does, and walks through how CopyCat turns a HawkSoft client file into a finished proposal. We make CopyCat, so our pick for proposals and comparisons is not independent. Every other tool is described from its vendor's or HawkSoft's published materials as of November 2026.

What "integrates with HawkSoft" actually means

There are three levels, and they make a real difference to how much work an AI tool takes off your team.

LevelWhat happensWhat it saves
File importThe tool produces a file. Someone imports it into HawkSoft.Typing, but not the hand-off.
ReadThe tool pulls clients and policies through HawkSoft’s Partner API with the agency’s permission.Re-keying what HawkSoft already knows.
Read and write backThe tool reads the client file and returns its work to it: a note, a task, a document on the client or policy. The re-keying and the filing. The record stays complete.

It also helps to know what the Partner API shares. A tool can read client and policy records: coverages, limits, deductibles, premiums, vehicles, drivers, locations and buildings, additional interests, and claims. It cannot download the documents attached to a client, such as the policy PDF, and it does not get the forms and endorsements list, scheduled personal property items, or the policy's transaction history. A vendor that promises to pull your dec pages out of HawkSoft is describing something the API does not offer today.

The AI tools that integrate with HawkSoft, by job

Choose by job, not by feature list. This is the shortlist we would hand an agency owner on HawkSoft in 2026.

1. CopyCat: proposals and comparisons straight from the client file

Best for: agencies that build proposals, renewal reviews, and quote comparisons every week and want every one to look like the agency, not like a carrier printout.

Most of the information a producer needs for a renewal proposal is already in HawkSoft. The carrier download put it there. The usual workflow ignores that: someone opens last year's PDF, opens the new quote, and retypes both into a Word document. CopyCat starts from the client file instead.

  1. Pick the client. Start a proposal or a comparison and search your HawkSoft clients by name. CopyCat keeps an hourly copy of your client list, so the search is instant.
  2. Pull the data. Choose Pull data from HawkSoft and every in-force policy on the client file comes in: coverages, limits, deductibles, premiums, vehicles, drivers, locations and buildings, additional interests, and claims.
  3. Add the quotes, if you have them. With no quotes, CopyCat builds an account summary proposal from the client file, with vehicle, driver, and location schedules and a premium page. With new quotes, the HawkSoft policies fill the Expiring column, so the client sees this year against last year line by line. An endorsement uploaded under a policy is folded into it.
  4. Review and edit. The proposal opens in CopyCat's built-in editor on your agency template, with an AI assistant for changes. Nobody exports to Word.
  5. Send it back. Send to HawkSoft files the finished PDF on the client, or on a specific policy, with a log note and an optional task for the CSR or producer. After the client signs with CopyCat e-sign, the signed copy goes back the same way.

The same connection works across the rest of CopyCat. On a renewal comparison, the client's in-force policies appear as the current side, checked and ready, so you only upload the renewal quotes. Policy Check and Contract Review reports, and signed documents, file back to the client too.

CopyCat reads what HawkSoft's Partner API shares and is upfront about the rest. Policy PDFs, forms and endorsement lists, and scheduled personal property items are not in the API, so upload those documents as usual and CopyCat combines them with the client file.

The CopyCat team switches the connection on with you during onboarding, and Settings shows when the client list last synced. CopyCat never uses customer documents to train AI models and holds a SOC 2 Type II report. Agencies on AMS360 can connect it for client lookup and filing in the same way.

2. Cara: an AI CSR for servicing work

Best for: agencies drowning in certificate requests and service email. HawkSoft describes Cara as an AI servicing assistant that generates certificates of insurance, compares coverages, cross-fills ACORD forms, and triages calls and email. Its two-way connection looks up and summarizes client records and writes notes, tasks, documents, and call transcripts back to HawkSoft. If you also need agency-branded client proposals, pair it with a proposal tool rather than expecting a servicing assistant to do both.

3. Exdion: renewal and policy checking automation

Best for: agencies whose biggest risk is the renewal that went out unchecked. Exdion and HawkSoft announced a partnership in February 2026 covering policy checking, quote comparison, proposal generation, and endorsement workflows, positioned around reducing E&O exposure and shortening renewal cycles. Ask for a live demo on one of your own renewals before committing.

4. Broker Buddha: submissions and loss runs

Best for: commercial agencies that market accounts to many carriers. Broker Buddha's two-way HawkSoft integration, announced in July 2026, brings a client's exposure data into market submissions, sources updated loss runs, sends one submission to several markets, and logs the responses back in HawkSoft. It sits upstream of the proposal: Broker Buddha gets the quotes in, CopyCat turns them into what the client reads.

5. Sonant: an AI receptionist that writes to the client file

Best for: agencies missing calls at lunch, after hours, or during renewal season. Sonant answers inbound calls, looks up the caller in HawkSoft in real time, and after the call writes detailed notes, the transcript, and a task sorted by type (quote, service, claim) to the client record. It can also create new prospect records.

6. Liberate: voice AI for service and quoting

Best for: larger agencies that want routine calls handled end to end. Liberate became a HawkSoft partner in November 2025. Its voice AI handles routine service requests such as proof of insurance and ID cards, takes quote intake, and routes the rest, around the clock in English and Spanish. Liberate also offers email, text, and digital intake agents.

7. Lightspeed Voice: an agency phone system with AI summaries

Best for: agencies replacing their phone system anyway. Lightspeed pops the matching HawkSoft record when a call comes in and syncs the call log, recording, notes, and AI summaries from its NOVA AI to the client afterward. It keeps people on the phones and takes the note taking off them.

8. Canopy Connect: policy data from new clients

Best for: personal lines agencies quoting a lot of new households. The prospect signs in to their current carrier through Canopy, which collects their policies, drivers, vehicles, and claims and creates a HawkSoft import for a new client record. It solves the first-day problem: getting a new client's current coverage into HawkSoft without a phone tag of dec page requests.

Agencies building out marketing alongside these tools should also look at the marketing automation partners with two-way HawkSoft sync, such as Agency Revolution and AgencyZoom. Our marketing playbook for growing brokerages covers that side of the stack.

Questions to ask before you connect HawkSoft to an AI tool

  • What does it read from HawkSoft, exactly? Clients only, or policies, coverages, vehicles, and drivers?
  • What does it write back, and where? A note on the client, a task for a named person, a document on a specific policy?
  • Who owns the output? An AI result with no owner in your workflow becomes another place for work to stall.
  • Does it need documents the API does not share? If so, how do they get in?
  • Does the vendor train models on your client data? Ask for the answer in writing, along with its security report.
  • What happens to your data if you cancel?

Where a HawkSoft agency should start

Start where your team retypes the most. For most independent agencies that is the proposal and the renewal review: the data is already in HawkSoft, the client reads the result line by line, and every hour spent copying limits into Word is an hour not spent on the conversation that keeps the account. Phones come next if calls go unanswered, then servicing if certificates and email pile up. Add one tool at a time and make sure each one files its work back to the client before you add the next.

Frequently asked questions

What AI tools integrate with HawkSoft?

Tools with announced HawkSoft integrations include CopyCat for proposals, comparisons, and policy checking; Cara for AI servicing; Exdion for renewals and policy checking; Broker Buddha for submissions and loss runs; Sonant, Liberate, and Lightspeed Voice for calls; and Canopy Connect for new-client policy data. HawkSoft lists its current partners in the Marketplace inside the management system.

What is the best AI proposal tool for HawkSoft agencies?

CopyCat. It imports every in-force policy on the HawkSoft client file, builds the proposal or renewal comparison on your own agency template, and files the finished PDF back on the client with a log note and an optional task.

Can AI read policy data from HawkSoft?

Yes, through HawkSoft's Partner API with the agency's permission: coverages, limits, deductibles, premiums, vehicles, drivers, locations, additional interests, and claims. Attached documents, the forms list, scheduled personal property, and transaction history are not available through the API.

Does CopyCat replace HawkSoft?

No. HawkSoft stays the system of record for clients, policies, and accounting. CopyCat is the document layer on top of it. For the longer version, see where broker AI fits beside your AMS.

Does CopyCat write back to HawkSoft?

Yes. Proposals, comparisons, Policy Check and Contract Review reports, and signed e-sign copies file back to the client, or to a specific policy, with a log note and an optional task for the CSR or producer.
